The House of Dancing Water makes a splash in Macau
“The House of Dancing Water”, a spectacular new water show, opened within the City of Dreams, Macau in September 2010.
The $250 million USD production comes from the Franco Dragone Entertainment Group, which is world famous for its spectacular and imaginative productions including “Le Rêve” and Celine Dion’s “A New Day in Las Vegas”.
Founder Franco Dragone, who has worked for Cirque du Soleil in the past, toured China exploring the cultural and artistic history as inspiration for the show and was drawn to China’s deep story-telling heritage within its art and traditional Chinese opera before deciding on a dramatic love story theme.
The show features an international cast of 77 including 32 acrobats, 12 members of the Tanzanian group Pyramid, and 7 motorcycle stuntmen.
The Theatre of Dreams is a 2,000 seat state-of-the-art venue featuring a 270-degree theatre-in-the-round with a commercial pool approximately 160 feet in diameter, 26 feet deep and holding 3.7 million gallons of water – more than five times the volume of an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
