Michelin Guide unveils 38 recommended eateries in Macau
Fine dining is growing considerably in Macau, with dozens of restaurants recommended in the recently launched third edition of the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2011.
With a vibrant and varied food scene, visitors can choose from a variety of Michelin Star restaurants, try unique Macanese cuisine and explore a few of the world’s best and most affordable eateries in this flavour-packed hidden gem in Asia.
Featuring 14 different styles of cooking, including Cantonese, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Steakhouse, the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2011 is now available in the UK.
In addition to the above, Macau offers an array of restaurants featuring “Macanese” cuisine, a unique blend of Portuguese, Chinese, African, South American and Indian influences, combined and adapted by the local Chinese.
Popular Macanese dishes include African Chicken, Tacho – a hearty stew of Chinese vegetables and different meats, Galinha Portuguesa – oven baked chicken with potatoes, onions, egg and saffron, and Linguado Macau – Macau sole fried and served with green salad.
Visitors can also taste Macau’s signature dessert “Pasteis de Nata”, delicious warm egg tarts.
