WHERE IS ARUBA?Aruba is part of the Dutch Caribbean and is located 15miles north of Venezuela.
WHAT’S ARUBA LIKE?
The island is 19 miles long, and six miles wide.
The south and west coasts are bordered by powder white sand beaches and turquoise seas, this is where the hotels are located. A rugged landscape marks the north coast and the interior is colored with numerous brush trees, a variety of cacti and dramatic rock formations.
WHAT LANGUAGE DO THEY SPEAK?
Dutch is the official language. English and Papiamento, a local dialect are widely spoken.
WHAT’S THE CAPITAL?
Oranjestead, a small colourful city with shops, cafés, bars and restaurants on the waterfront. Also home to the main cruise terminal
DO I NEED A VISA?
For UK passport holders a visa is not required.
WHAT CURRENCY DO THEY USE?
The official currency of Aruba is the Aruban florin but US dollars are widely accepted and recommended as best currency to take when visiting.

WHAT’S THE CLIMATE LIKE?
Aruba enjoys a year round sunny climate, making it a year-round destination. The average daily temperature is 82ºF (28ºC) Aruba lies on the edge of the hurricane belt, so very low risk. Rainfall is very moderate, approx 20inches per year!
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Direct weekly flights from LGW and MAN with Thomsom Airways (May-Oct) Schedule airlines are KLM and Martinair via Amsterdam or American Airlines via Miami or another US port.
ACCOMMODATION IN ARUBA
Aruba has two types of hotel, high rise and low rise. The high rise hotels are predominantly located on Palm Beach and are mainly international brands like the Hyatt, Marriott and Occidental. The low rise hotels are mainly located on Eagle beach. These hotels are generally much smaller and boutique in style, Bucuti Beach Resort, Amsterdam Manor, Divi Hotels etc
WHAT CAN I DO IN ARUBA?
Due to the continuous sunny weather, Aruba is great for outdoor activities including, snorkelling, paralysing, sailing, scuba diving, horse riding, golf and cycling. The capital is perfect for shopping but the beaches have to be the islands best asset!!!
